Our method

A clear assignment, from start to finish.

A land or topographic file passes through several hands: yours, ours and the authorities'. Here is how we work, and what depends on whom.

The steps

Six steps, always in the same order.

You are kept informed as each step is completed.

  1. First conversation

By phone, at the office or through the quote form. You describe your project and what you know about the land.

  2. Document review

Land title, registration application, deed, cadastral plan, planning information note: we identify the appropriate procedure and any missing documents.

  3. Written quote

Services, deliverables, estimated timeframe for our work, fees, and administrative costs shown separately.

  4. Fieldwork

An appointment is set with you. For boundary marking, neighbouring owners are summoned according to the applicable procedure.

  5. Computations, checks and plans

Measurements are computed, checked and finalised at the office, then the documents are signed by the surveying engineer.

  6. Delivery, submission and follow-up

We hand over the documents and explain them to you; when they must be submitted, we follow the file until it is approved.

What to prepare

Documents that save time.

Bring what you have, even if incomplete: we will tell you what is missing. A copy is enough to get started.

Construction

For a building project

  • Land title or ownership deed
  • Planning information note, if you have one
  • Architect's plans, for setting-out
  • Contact details of the architect or engineering consultancy

Timeframes and fees

The questions we are asked most often.

Straight answers, with no promises we could not keep.

How long does it take?

Our own work — fieldwork, computations and plans — generally takes from a few days to a few weeks depending on the area, access to the land and the nature of the file. The quote specifies this timeframe.

When the file goes through the authorities (land registry, cadastre, municipality, urban planning agency), its processing time does not depend on us. We follow the file and keep you informed, but we never promise a date for administrative approval.

How is the quote calculated?

According to the nature of the service, the area and layout of the land, the required precision, the distance and the number of documents to produce. As every situation is different, we do not publish flat rates: the quote is drawn up after reviewing your documents.

Are land registry fees included?

No. Duties and charges collected by the authorities are separate from our fees. The quote shows them separately so that you know the total cost of the procedure.

Do I need to be present on site?

It is preferable, especially to point out the boundaries you know. For boundary marking, the presence of the owner or their representative is important. If you live abroad, a person holding a power of attorney can represent you.

I live abroad: can you handle my file remotely?

Yes, for a large part: exchange of documents by email, quote, follow-up and sending of plans. Some steps require presence or a power of attorney; we tell you so when we review the file.

Getting started

The first step commits you to nothing.

Send us a description of your project and your documents: we will reply with the appropriate procedure and a written quote.
