My checklist before buying

Bare land, house, apartment, commercial premises or farmland: describe the property, the seller and your project, one question at a time, and get the list of checks to make, in order, before you pay anything. Each point says what to check, why, with which document and with whom, and links to the section of the guide it comes from. Everything happens in your browser: nothing is sent.

Your personalised list in a few questions

One question per screen. You can go back or change an answer at any time: the list adapts. Then tick each point as you complete your checks.

How it works

A list drawn from our guides, adapted to your case.

Every check, warning sign, document and question for the seller comes from a section of our guides, written from official texts and dated. Under each line, a link takes you to the section it comes from: you can check, and read the text cited.

The tool only knows what you tell it. It does not consult the land registry, the municipality or the urban agency, and it does not replace a review of your documents by a notary, adoul or lawyer, or a check of the boundaries on site by a surveying engineer. When our guides do not cover a question (a tenant's rights, documents specific to companies), the list says so instead of inventing a rule.

  • Free, no sign-up, no data sent: your answers and ticks stay in your browser.
  • Sorted by stage: before any payment, before the preliminary agreement, before the deed, at signing, afterwards.
  • Dated PDF with your ticks, printable, in your language; Arabic names of documents as they appear in the texts.

If you are unsure of an answer, choose “I don't know”: the list then adds the checks that clear up the doubt.

Sources

The texts behind the checks.

The guides cited were checked and updated on 29 October 2026. They rely in particular on the following texts, in their consolidated version where one exists. The full list of sources, with links to the texts, is at the bottom of each guide.

Frequently asked questions

Before using the list.

Does the list have any legal value?

No. It is general information, built from our guides. It helps you ask the right questions and gather the right documents; only authorised professionals and the authorities can give an opinion on your file.

What do “essential” and “recommended” mean?

“Essential”: a check without which you do not know what you are buying, or one the law requires. “Recommended”: a check that reduces a frequent risk in your situation. In both cases, each point links to the section of the guide that explains it.

Are my answers and ticks sent anywhere?

No. Everything happens in your browser, which keeps your answers and ticks so that you can come back later. The “Clear my answers and ticks” button deletes them. The quote link only passes on a summary of your answers, if you choose to use it.

I have already paid a deposit. Is the list still useful?

Yes: answer “I have already paid a deposit” to the question on progress. The list flags the stages already passed and the checks to make straight away. If a problem appears, consult a lawyer quickly: time limits are strict.

How do I get the list as a PDF?

Click “Download the PDF”: the document contains the dated list, your ticks, the warnings, the documents and the questions for the seller, with links to the guides, in Arabic as well as in English. You can also print the page.

Before signing

Have the boundaries and the area checked.

Ellipsoide, a surveying engineer registered with the ONIGT in Fez, locates the boundary markers, measures the area and overlays the title plan on the ground before your purchase. The legal review and the deed are for the notary, adoul or lawyer.
